About

SizeReduce makes free tools for the files Indian forms ask for: photos, signatures and thumb impressions in exact pixel sizes and KB ranges, a plain white or blue background behind a photo, PDFs under a size limit, and Hindi text and typing practice for exams.

Everything runs in your browser. Your files are opened, changed and saved on your own phone or computer; they are never sent to us or anyone else. That is why the site needs no account.

Exam sizes are copied from official notices, each with its link and the date we checked it.

Open-source software

The PDF tools use PDF.js by Mozilla (Apache License 2.0; its fonts, character maps and image decoders keep their own licences in the same folder) and pdf-lib by Andrew Dillon (MIT License). The background changer finds the person in a photo with Google's MediaPipe Selfie Segmenter model (Apache License 2.0), which our own code runs on your device. In browsers that cannot open iPhone HEIC photos themselves, the photo tools use heic-to, with libheif and libde265 by struktur AG (GNU Lesser General Public License 3; versions and source), also on your device. Headings use the Poppins font by the Indian Type Foundry (SIL Open Font License 1.1), served from this site. The Kruti Dev converter was checked against the character tables of bharattype-hindi-transliteration (MIT License). Everything else, including the typing passages, was written for this site.
