Increase image size in KB

Type the minimum and maximum KB from your form. The tool raises the quality first, then adds filler bytes inside the file to reach the minimum. The picture does not change.

Works on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

Why a form says your photo is too small

Many forms set a minimum as well as a maximum, such as "photo between 20 and 50 KB" or "signature between 10 and 20 KB". A clean photo with a plain background, or a sharp signature on white paper, can easily come out under the minimum, and the portal rejects it even though it looks perfect. The picture does not need to change; only the number of bytes does. If the photo itself is blurred or tiny, take a clearer one instead: a minimum is there so faces and signatures are clear.

How the tool increases the size

  1. It saves the picture at the highest JPEG quality that stays under your maximum, which on its own often adds a few KB.
  2. If you type a larger Width and Height, it also draws the picture at that pixel size. Only do this when your form asks for those pixels: enlarging cannot add detail.
  3. If the file is still under the minimum, it adds comment bytes inside the JPEG until it reaches the minimum. Comments are part of the JPEG standard and every viewer ignores them, so the picture stays exactly the same.

The minimum is counted safely: the file is made larger than both 1,000 and 1,024 bytes per KB, so it is above the minimum however the portal counts. See KB, MB and bytes.

Worked example

A 140 × 60 pixel signature saved at 7 KB, for a form asking for 10 to 20 KB: with Minimum KB 10 and Maximum KB 20, the tool saves it at the highest quality (about 9 KB) and adds filler bytes to reach about 10.3 KB. The signature looks the same, and the file is inside 10 to 20 KB.

Questions people ask

Does increasing the KB change my photo?
No. The tool raises the JPEG quality and, if needed, adds comment bytes that viewers ignore. The picture only changes if you type a larger width and height.
Is the bigger file still a normal photo?
Yes. It is a standard JPEG within your KB range, and every viewer shows the same picture. Start from a clear, sharp photo: whoever checks the form looks at the picture, not only its size.
Can I increase a photo from 10 KB to 50 KB?
Yes. Type 50 or more in Minimum KB and a larger maximum, such as 100. The file is made just over 50 KB. Most of the extra is filler bytes, so a blurred photo stays blurred: if yours is not clear, take a new one.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The file is made by your own browser and never leaves your phone or computer.
