How to make passport size photos to print
- Take the photo against a plain white or light wall, in daylight, looking straight at the camera. See photo rules for forms.
- Choose it here. Keep Passport size, 3.5 × 4.5 cm, or pick stamp size, 2 × 2 inch or your own size.
- Pick the paper: 6 × 4 inch for a photo shop, A4 for your own printer.
- Move the box so your face sits inside the dashed oval, with a little space above the head.
- Tap Make my file. Download the JPG for a photo shop, or the PDF for your printer.

The photos are laid out in the direction that fits the most, with thin grey lines to cut along. On A4 the tool keeps 5 mm clear at the edges, because home printers cannot print to the edge. To print fewer photos and save paper or ink, type a number in Copies.
Printing at the right size
The sheet is made at 300 dots per inch, the resolution photo labs and home printers use for photos, so each photo prints at its true size only when nothing is scaled. At a photo shop, give them the JPG and ask for a print on the same paper size without cropping or "fit". At home, open the PDF and choose Actual size or 100% in the print window, not Fit to page. Before cutting, measure one photo with a ruler: a passport size photo should be 3.5 cm wide.
Worked example
A 3 MB phone photo of 3000 × 4000 pixels with passport size and 6 × 4 inch paper gives a 1800 × 1200 pixel sheet with 8 photos of 413 × 531 pixels, about 400 to 700 KB as a JPG. A print of it at a photo shop costs a few rupees, much less than a studio set of passport photos.

- Can the tool change my background to white?
- Yes. Choose White under Background before you make the sheet; the photo is changed on your phone and never uploaded. Check the hair and shoulders in the result before you print.
- Is my photo uploaded?
- No. The sheet is made by your own browser, so the photo never leaves your phone or computer.
