How to change the case of text
- Tap Clear to remove the example, then paste or type your text in the first box.
- Choose UPPERCASE, lowercase, Sentence case or Capitalise Each Word. The result appears in the second box and changes as you type.
- Tap Copy result and paste it where you need it.
The four cases
- UPPERCASE makes every letter a capital: AMAN KUMAR VERMA. Forms that ask for capital letters or block letters want this.
- lowercase makes every letter small, which fixes text typed with Caps Lock on by mistake.
- Sentence case puts a capital at the start of each sentence and each line, makes everything else small, and turns "i" on its own into "I". It cannot tell the names of people and places, so capitalise those yourself.
- Capitalise Each Word puts a capital at the start of every word: Aman Kumar Verma. This is the usual way to write a name or a heading.
Writing your name on a form
Many forms ask for your name as it appears on your Class 10 certificate, and some want it in capital letters. Changing the case does not change the spelling, so check the spelling, spaces and initials against the certificate before you submit. If the form says how to write initials, with or without full stops, follow it.
Hindi and other Indian scripts
Devanagari and the other Indian scripts have no capital and small letters, so Hindi text stays exactly as it is. In mixed text, only the English letters change.
